Perran was selected as our Parliamentary Candidate in November 2022.

He was born and raised in Redruth; his dad was a GP in Camborne and Redruth, and his mum was an NHS nurse. They still live here. Perran went away to University and raised his family in Oxfordshire though he always thought of Cornwall as home. Now his children have flown the nest, he has returned to Cornwall.

He joined the Labour Party the day after we lost power in 2010 and vowed to do whatever he could to return a Labour government. He has been a Councillor since 2019 in one of the most deprived wards in the country, where he works hard to support struggling communities.

Perran is director of a company which installs electric vehicle charging points and regularly speaks at sustainable energy events and conferences. He liaises daily with local and national government, encouraging the rollout of electric charging infrastructure.

He is a sea-swimmer, Redruth rugby fan, youth rugby coach, RFU qualified referee and a keen cricketer.
