James Bannister
Trade Union Liaison Officer
I was born and grew up in Redruth. I joined the then British Rail in 1993 and have been on the railways ever since. I also joined the Rail Maritime & Transport Union. I stayed a member for 28 years having been an industrial rep & Regional President. I’m now a member of ASLEF, the Train Drivers’ Union.
I have been a member of the Labour Party for about 5 years.
I believe there needs to be a root and branch review of the anti-Trade Union laws. Labour needs to return to its Trade Union roots.
