David Lammy and the Labour battle bus in Camborne

Shadow Foreign Secretary David Lammy brought Labour’s battle bus to Camborne today.

Greeted by Perran Moon and a crowd of about 70 activists, he gave an inspirational speech which focussed on Labour’s determination to deliver change for the UK and make it a better place to live. After opening with a comment about himself and Sir Kier Starmer being present for the whole day for the D-Day commemorations in France, he reflected on the last 14 years of Conservative government, and how families across Cornwall are affected by the cost of living crisis, sewage being dumped in our rivers and seas, the NHS crisis, and the teacher shortage.

He held a private meeting with Perran Moon and Labour candidates Jayne Kirkham (Truro & Falmouth), Noah Law (St Austell & Newquay) and Dr. Filson Ali (St Ives).

Afterwards the bus continued on to Plymouth.
