Camborne, Redruth & Hayle Labour The Labour Party in Camborne & Redruth Constituency
Camborne, Redruth and Hayle Labour Party has opened a new campaign headquarters at 33 Trelowarren St in Camborne, from where their General Election campaign will be coordinated.
The high profile, centrally located office on two floors will act as a centre point for all General Election campaign activity, a base for recruiting local people interested in supporting Labour’s bid to win and will be manned most days up to the next election.
The new HQ reflects the seriousness with which the Labour Party is taking winning in the Camborne & Redruth constituency, which also covers the north coast from Perranporth and St Agnes down to Hayle, as well villages to the south, such as Stithians, Constantine and Mawnan Smith. The Camborne & Redruth constituency has never been won by Labour since it was created in 2010. However, led by the Labour candidate, Perran Moon, the local party has deployed a massive programme of canvassing several times every week throughout the constituency, supported by leaflets dropping across the constituency until the next General Election.
Sue Winter, Vice-Chair of Camborne, Redruth and Hayle Labour Party said: “The opening of our new office on Trelowarren Street is more than just a symbol of the increasing confidence that Labour is building across the constituency. It will be the focal point for our campaign to elect Perran as MP this year and then to coordinate our campaign to significantly increase Labour’s representation on Cornwall Council next year. We’ve had a really lovely reception since the signs went up and now the doors are open we’re keen to talk to anyone who’d like to drop in and discuss how they can support our campaign to kick the Conservatives out of Camborne, Redruth & Hayle.”
Perran Moon, Labour’s Parliamentary candidate in Camborne & Redruth said: “It’s a huge boost to our campaign to have such a high profile office from which to manage the campaign. It will also provide an ideal opportunity for me to meet more local residents and listen to how they would like our local communities to change, after the devastation that the Conservatives have inflicted over the course of the last 14 years. Labour has a programme for Government that will make a profound difference to so many local residents and businesses, and it’s our job to make sure that, whenever Mr Sunak finally calls time on this rotten government, we are presenting the clear alternative for change and getting our future back.”
