Camborne, Redruth & Hayle Labour The Labour Party in Camborne & Redruth Constituency

John Cosgrove represents Roskear on Camborne Town Council, where he is Chair of the Finance Committee. As Vice Chair of Camborne Town Deal Board he has helped deliver exciting improvements for our town, including the new community green space by Tesco, better facilities at Park Gerry and the forthcoming transformation of the former Basset Road School into a major community asset. Now retired, John began his career at Pool School in 1981 and taught in Hayle and Penzance before moving away to end his career as a headteacher in Reading. He has twice been Labour’s parliamentary candidate for our constituency.
John says: “A worsening housing crisis, a growing scandal in Special Educational Needs provision in our schools, an accelerating climate emergency; all of these are areas where Cornwall Council can have a direct impact and where strong Labour councillors can make a real difference. I would like to help make that difference, improving lives for people in Roskear and across Cornwall.”
John is standing as a combined candidate for Labour and Co-operative Parties.
